Tleukhan

Hello, I'm Tleukhan (Tony).

My research interests focus on robotics, simulation development, perception, and machine learning. I am completing my Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, under the supervision of Prof. Mahdi Tavakoli. I have completed my research internship at Max Planck Institue of Intelligent Systems under the supervision of Prof. Katherine Kuchenbecker. I also got my undegraduate degree from Nazarbayev University with Magna Cum Laude honours, where I conducted research in the Tactile Robotics Laboratory under the supervision of Prof. Zhanat Kappassov. Additionally, I had the opportunity to conduct research with National University of Singapore, mentored by Dr. Tasbolat Taunyazov. Read more about my research or get in touch!

  • January 2026 - Our paper on Autonomous Suturing got accepted for preseantation at IEEE BioRob 2026.
  • August 2025 - In collaboration with Prof. Harold Soh from the National University of Singapore, we presented our research paper at IROS 2025 conference.
  • June 2024 - Conducted an exploratory study on new applications and capabilities of event-based cameras.
